The Tropical Agro factory was first established in Ambattur

Mr. VK Jhaver (of The Jhaver Group) acquired a 100 % stake & took over an ailing set-up with an employee strength of 50 & turnover of Rs. 65 lakhs.

Started with the private label manufacturing vertical for Shaw Wallace. Manufactured chemical products in the crop protection segment. 

Ventured into Northern parts of India with the Tropical Agro brand.

Achieved a turnover of Rs. 5 crores.

Launched an own label brand for the Indian market and envisaged a change in sales strategy to ensure business growth. Registered 20 products. 

The second manufacturing unit was set up in Loni (Ghaziabad). 

Forayed into newer markets & enlarged the distribution geography to PAN India. Up-scaled the business by adding Plant Growth Regulators to the product portfolio alongside the crop protection segment.

The business achieved a financial milestone of Rs. 40 crores. 

Achieved a T/0 of Rs 200 crores in a span of 10 years.

The first co-marketing partnership with BASF – a leading agrochemical Company was forged to add variants to the product line.

One of the foremost players to envision the need & foray into the biological products space by launching 3 insecticide products.

The third manufacturing unit was set up in Sanand Gujarat.

A separate business vertical for co-marketing was set up to extend our product line and offer farmers a more comprehensive range of products.

Strengthened the market position by expanding the product line thru’ collaborations with various chemical manufacturing giants.

The fourth factory was set up at Sikandrabad to meet the growing market demand.

Introduced the biological product range by establishing a factory & an R&D set-up at Tropical Biosciences Private Limited, Coimbatore

Received Organic certification from IMO for biological products for the first time.

Set a new milestone of Rs.460 crores turnover through a robust sales strategy & a distribution set-up comprising 5000 channel partners.
Set up a facility at Bangalore, Tropical Nanosciences Private Limited for the the biological fertilizer range.

Introduced products in the post-harvest segment through a collaboration with Agrofresh, MNC from US. | Introduced an innovative & first-of-its-kind biological Organic Waste Decomposer TROPICAL PROPEL to     enhance soil fertility, reduce waste, and protect the environment from toxic gases.

Produced a Bollywood-style documentary film “Jai Jawan Jai Jaivik Kissan to encourage Organic farming techniques.

Further advocated organic farming practices to farmers through a second documentary film “Jiyo Aur Jeene Do”

Rolled out products under the seed coating segment.

DSIR Registration certification awarded for our Biological Lab facility at Coimbatore.

Forged a co-marketing partnership with Corteva – a global agricultural chemical company.

Introduced new products into the market by signing up a co-marketing partnership with Syngenta, a leading MNC in agricultural science & technology

Collaborated with Bayer to expand the product basket.

The only company in India to get post-harvest product registration for 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP)

Total income crosses Rs. 975 crores with the help of 10000 channel partners.

Awarded WHO GMP Certification for manufacturing of pesticides, bio-fertilizers, and bio-stimulants formulation for the Sikandrabad factory in UP

NABL accreditation (ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification) was received for the lab at Sikandrabad (UP) unit which very few companies in India have.

Set up a seventh new Facility at Kishangarh, Rajasthan for biological granule production.

Patent granted in March 2023 for our product NASA – BIOSTIMULANT COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF PREPARATION.
