Description:

SmartFresh technology is a freshness-protection solution that enhances the current storage practices. It’s active ingredient, 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), works by temporarily blocking the ethylene receptor sites and there by extending the shelf life of the fruit. SmartFresh interacts with ethylene-sensitive sites in the fruit to manage its response to internal and external ethylene sources. This puts the ripening process “on hold” so that softening and over-ripening occur much more slowly. SmartFresh maintains harvest quality when applied correctly at the cool room, Complementing Temperature management along the supply chain through to the customer. SmartFresh has long been providing real advantages for growers, packers, retailers and consumers of a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

Time of Application

Apply SmartFresh as close to harvest as possible. Do not exceed 7 days from harvest ( critical for scald control )

Application Method

SmartFresh technology is applied by the use of proprietary delivery devices. Which are available in 2 sizes; Large and small. Fill the treatment area with fruit. Place the appropriate delivery device on a stable surface of treatment area in position that would be within the flow of air from the internal air circulation system.

Precautions

Do not apply SmartFresh to fruit with the pulp temperature greater than 21 degrees.
